Volunteer Opportunities

Up

There are a number of volunteer opportunities available through the Alzheimer Society of Guelph-Wellington:

Volunteer Companion Program

Volunteers are matched with a person who has Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia who is living at home. Companions share weekly recreational and social activities (up to 3 hours/week) while the caregiver takes time for themselves.  Training and orientation for the volunteer is provided.

Please email Andrea at companion@alzheimer.guelph.org or call 519-836-7672 to find out more about this very worthwhile program.

We have a number of opportunities available right now!

Special Event Volunteer

Requirements depend upon the nature of the event (Eg. Coffee Break, Christmas Carols by Candlelight, Walk For Memories). Please contact Rachel at office@alzheimer.guelph.org or call the office.

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors of the Alzheimer Society of Guelph-Wellington is made up of volunteers from our community.

Our members come from all walks of life, but all have one thing in common.  They are all aware of the impact of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias on those individuals with Alzheimer's disease, their caregivers and our community.

The Chapter has a number of standing committees that need volunteers to assist with the implementation of Board policy.   There are a number of opportunities to help us from fundraising and marketing to public relations and volunteer services.

If you would like to be involved, and have a few hours a month to participate in a dynamic and ongoing process, please contact our office at 519-836-7672 for more information.

Fund Development Committee

The Fund Development Committee of the Alzheimer Society of Guelph-Wellington is made up of volunteers from our community.

The committee meets every month or two to discuss and plan our fundraising events. We have a small number of events that we work hard to grow and maintain from year to year, and we are always interested in new perspectives and methods on how to build upon our past successes.

If you would like to be involved in this committee, please contact our office at 519-836-7672 for more information.
